[color=red][size=4]Narasimhudu[/size][/color] Producer Chengal Venkatrao was then MLA of Payakarao peta. He was not good financially but addicted to vices and spendthrift.

Before the movie release he sort to new technique of distributing the film directly without any distributors. He did the agreements directly from Theatres. He only took advances and no MGs/SGs/Hires.

The reason is Advance means which has to be returned back to exhibitor if the film doesnt pay. Eg: Ravi theatre of Kadapa gives 30 lacs as Advance and the film collected 10 lacs. So 20 lacs has to be returned to exhibitor by producer. Advance is just meant to help the movie release smoothly.

Many exhibitors thought that Chengal as MLA with many properties will repay if there are losses and so paid heavy advances. The agreements were unfortunately done on one of his nephew. This was all planned. All the properties were with his brothers name.

Finally during the release he again said that he has finance problems and NTR paid 7cr after taking loan from suresh movies and ensured the movie releases smoothly.

The movie bombed at boxoffice. So Chengal planned it well and did a drama of Hussain sagar. With this he made statements that he was cheated by his brother and is in serious debts and under life threat and humiliations. With one stroke none could attack him for their debts and they couldnt go to court as the agreement was on some dick and harry who was said to be his nephew.

So Finally Changals plan worked and he earned crores with a disaster movie. However NTRs image got tarnished inspite of helping with 7cr and he also landed into financial issues during that time.
These are all learnings which made NTR a tough personal mentally. Good that he had these in the early stages and could recoup fast.[/b][/color]

My guess is also that you are aware of the fact that there was a strike during film shoot...consider the days the unit lost and also the expenses and interest he has to pay for the delay during that break.......

Note: FYI i am not a mahesh babu fan ....niether an anti -NTR fan...
