Store workers were cleaning blood from the scene late Sunday after, authorities say, a customer leaving a west Houston sporting-goods store opened fire, injuring three people in the parking lot.

Two men and one women were in stable condition after the shooting Sunday at Academy Sports + Outdoors, 7600 Westheimer, Houston Police Department Sgt. K.R. McDaniel said.
There was a brief altercation before the shots were fired, McDaniel said, but officers “don’t know why he did it.”
The alleged gunman was with his mother and another relative at the time of the shooting. The suspect, who was not identified, was taken into custody on Sunday.
No information was available about the victims.
