Since Saturday, pooja started acute physical therapy. The therapists put her on medicines to help relax the muscles in the body. She has a busy schedule during the day. She is undergoing occupational, physical and speech therapy. She is showing good improvement in walking. She walked about 2 steps on the first day with the help of the therapist and table support. She was able to walk about 28 and 86 steps in the next two days.
This is quite encouraging to see the progress.

Hello All: Thanks for all the well wishes and encouragement given to Pooja. She is currently undergoing acute physical therapy in Ludlow, Massachussets. She is in the Healthsouth Rehab. Currently her daily routine consists of 1.5hr of occupational therapy, 1 hr of physical therapy and 1 hr of speech therapy. She gets 1/2 hr to 1 hr breaks in between. She is showing very good progress since the therapy started. She is walking without a table support in front from the last two days. The therapist has to support her weight on the left leg when she is walking but she is slowly putting some weight on the left leg. She is able to move her left hand slightly towards her. Her family makes her do exercises through out the rest of the day. The therapists are trying to provide her with more therapy to help her recover faster.

They are also making her push on a barrier with the left hand. She is doing good. Her speech and physical therapy are also doing pretty good. The staff at the hospital is able to give her extra therapy when they can. She took 260 steps day before yesterday. She is in good spirits. In few days she will be made to walk up stairs as well.
