Hyderabad, Oct 20: Mr Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, who won the Banswada Assembly seat in the by-poll, has alleged that all the settlers were Telangana traitors.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, he said all the settlers in Banswada have voted against Telangana, and warned that the people would teach them a befitting lesson in the future. He said if the Congress and the TDP had contested separately, they wouldn’t have even got deposits. He has claimed that the TDP cadre was with him. He said that the settlers had belied his expectation that they would vote him. He has warned that the settlers would face serious consequences if they do not change their attitude. He said every one living in Telangana must support the Telangana movement. He said it was because the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu had colluded that the Congress candidate got his deposit back.

Referring to the statement of Naidu that his party would henceforth contest all the elections in Telangana, Pocharam said he would loose his face if he did so. He has also alleged that the government has transferred all the policemen at the time of elections and filled with its own men, who had acted as Congress agents, he has alleged.

Pocharam has received a warm welcome from the TRS workers when came to the party office for the first time on Thursday after the election.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, he has alleged that the TDP had supported the Congress in retaining its deposit. Both the parties had colluded and distributed money and wine to the people, with a view to defeat him. He has also charged that both the Congress and the TDP had tried to defeat the Telangana movement. He said that all the villages that had passed unanimous resolutions in favor of Telangana had voted for him. He said, because of the RTC strike, people living in far-flung areas could not come to the polling booths. He has claimed that this was the reason for his not getting the majority he had expected.

Pocharam will be taking oath as MLA on Friday.
