Lok Satta Party president Dr Jayaprakash Narayana always talks about his Utopian world despite the fact that the present day politics is full of corrupt, dishonest and criminal elements.
And still, JP is day-dreaming about transformation of the society and ruling the state one day or the other.
Addressing the state executive committee meeting of his party, JP said if Lok Satta came to power and he became the chief minister, he would show how an ideal and responsive government would be. In this regard, JP announced several sops that resembled the “all-free” promises of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.
“If I become the Chief Minister, I will ensure that every person above 60 years in the unorganized sector would get a monthly pension of Rs 1,000, or gratuity of Rs 1 lakh. Every young man and girl in a family would get a job and every family would get the Arogyasri card. There would be round-the-clock drinking water supply to every town and round-the-clock power to agriculture sector free of cost. Besides, our government would implement total prohibition in the state,” JP announced, adding that the party would expand its network to all parts of the state with an objective of grabbing power by 2014 elections.
Well, anybody can dream big. But the dream should be a bit realistic. Right, Mr JP?
