The [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/US-government"]US government[/url] on Tuesday said that it had increased H-1B visas from 54,111 issued in 2010 to 67,195 in 2011. In September this year, India had brought America's attention to the estimates by Indian industry that the uptake of [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/H-1B-visa"]H-1B visa[/url] this year had been less than half of the annual prescribed limit, and the rejection rates had gone up. India had sought an early resolution to the problems being faced by the IT industry over H-1B visas in the US.
