while hinduism tells
aham brahmasmi,
implying that every person is a god,
provided one can realize it(aka self realisation)
these sick people keep believing that one human is above other by birth...
burn the manu smriti.
so the ones borne form the head part are higher caste
bull ######
in this society , nobody is born an independent ,
so do is no family,
so do is no caste,
everyone is dependent upon other man,
no single caste can survive on just what it does...
even no caste follows what was its ancient profession 100%

generally people dont accept marrying betwen castes for the fear of mix up
then let those high caste people dont touch anything touched by the low caste people
if the food is cultivated by someone from the lower caste let em not touch...
because by eating food only we earn our body......

i happened to have my graduation from a professional college,
the irony is that we can guess ones caste from the persons he is talking to and being friendly with,

demolish the caste system!

burning manusmriti or any scripture will take no where my friend. This shows that u didn't understood the scriptures well (assuming u have read those. if u commenting without reading scriptures, then I have nothing to say) If u don't know or can't understand wats written in that book, then shuld be book be burnt ???

For ex: If u can't understand programming, does it mean that we need to burn those books ??

Yes, its true. Our scriptures say that brahmins come from face of brahma, vysas from waist, kshatriyas from arm & sudras from feet of brahma. But my friend, do u know who r brahmins , kshatriyas, vysas , sudras ?? The same book defines them. Any person who spends most of time in worshipping or performing rituals, pujas at temples, that person can qualify to be brahmin. Kshatriyas r the one who have valour, phyical power to protect ppl. vyayas r financers and sudras r cleaners.

For ex: If a person worships god and does pujas then he becomes brahmin and if cleans ###### he becomes sudra , if he protects ppl by his power he becomes kshatriya, and if he finances then he becomes vyasya

We all work. At work we have a boss. Your boss is higher than you and you are lower than your boss. Does this mean that your company is bad for making you lower than your boss? No. You are lower than your boss, because your boss deserves to be higher than you. He is better qualified and experienced and thus he deserves to be higher than you. You are less qualified and experienced and thus you deserve to be lower than your boss.
The Hindu caste system is exactly like this example.
Basically the Hindu caste system is that, based on the qualifications a person has developed. He/She should be given an appropriate role in society. Every organization in the World is following the Hindu caste system. As the employees in every organization are given a role in the organization according to the qualifications of the employee.
The current caste system practiced in India is based on birth and not qualifications and thus it should be rejected.

Just like in a family, one child may become a Doctor based on the qualifications acquired. And another child may become a Janitor.

Is everyone of the same intelligence? Is everyone very clean? Is everyone very honest? Is everyone very religious? Is everyone very peaceful and non-violent?
The simple answer to the above questions is NO. Thus this proves that everyone is not equal.

Guys take home message is: we are so deep in caste feeling and we discriminate each other . that takes us nowhere.

Manu smriti tells that brahmin is from the face and ...etc.... what about the people who are not brahmin, kshatriya, vysya or even sudra?
they are not people? do you think god will like brahmins more than sudras? thats what this manu smriti is telling? so, burn it ( absolute rejection is needed). if you are good with hindu scriptures you know that sincerity is more imp in worship than form and amount irrespective of any caste!
whatever the take home message:
but, in our country caste feeling has become like a bueatiful cancer which we dont want to cure instead we enjoy it while it is pulling back our country killing its progress.
so absolute rejection of caste is required.

Hi
good to see an argument with rationality :) i a accustomed to see people blindly taking sides.
1.first family:
u said: Just like in a family, one child may become a Doctor based on the qualifications acquired. And another child may become a Janitor.
thats perfect; so, when the members of same family are not equal why give them same caste? caste system is so ridiculous as we apply the fact you have presented to the smallest unit in the society that is family... how you want to apply that to some thing as big as a billion plus hindus of the world?
2 u said:Is everyone of the same intelligence? Is everyone very clean? Is everyone very honest? Is everyone very religious? Is everyone very peaceful and non-violent?
so you accept that some people are above others.
so, if you come to USA you accept that USA people are above yourself and you are inferior to them, because USA is the world's leading country and India is still a developing country.
the moment you accept caste system you may feel that you are superior to some at the same time you are accepting that you are inferior to some.
3. Intelligence: if you take the first ranker in your school and the least performer in marks (bewarsi)
take both of them to a movie and after that ask them to recount everything that was in movie, the bewarsi will out perform the studious first ranker practically.
still you are stuck with intelligence , go n google on learned helplessness - it is a psychology concept. you need to konw it.
Thanks .

Hi

in my previous post, I have very clearly said this...

The current caste system practiced in India is based on birth and not qualifications and thus it should be rejected.

So, when I agreed that our current system is so wrong and is not practiced as prescribed from our scriptures, then wats the point in blaming those books ??

for ex: almost every religion says not to tell lies or kill someone etc., but ppl lie and do murder, so does it mean that we have burn those books as ppl r lying & killing someone ???

The brahmin, vysya, sudra etc., said in our scriptures r varnas not castes. Varnas r assigned by qualifications not by birth. But in our society, ppl r following by birth which is quite opposite to our scriptures.

The Hindu caste system states that there are 4 categories to which a person belongs to, according to his/her qualification.

Peacefulness, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, wisdom, knowledge, and religiousness are the qualities of Brahmans. They should be the leaders of society so that others can follow in their footsteps.
Heroism, power, determination, resourcefulness, courage in battle, generosity, and leadership are the qualities of Ksatriyas. They should be the administrators of society.

Those who have other qualities from those above, are the Vaisyas. They are the producers of society.
etc., are prescribed from our scriptures.

also u have to see in wat context they have been said in scriptures..

for ex: sri krishna says in bhagavad gita in chapter 2 verse 37...

"Either being slain u will attain heaven or by killing someone u will gain victory, so rise and fight"

here, lord krishna says that if we kill someone we will acheive their property or getting killed we will acheive heaven, so fight and kill. so, does it mean that bhagavad gita says to kill each other ??? NO

it was said in the context of battlefield, so my friend, picking something out of context will get different meaning....

Finally, lord krishna says in bhagavad gita chapter 4 verse 13...

"The four divisions(castes or varnas) of humans were created by me according to differences in quality, activities and aptitude;although the creator of this, know me as the non-doer being immutable"

No where he mentioned by birth, that means, castes or varnas r by qualities not by birth according to our scriptures.

ur comparing our society and blaming scriptures which is totally wrong as our ppl r not following things prescribed in our scriptures. our scriptures say caste is by qualifications not by birth but our ppl r following that caste is by birth not by qualifications. So, we can't blame the books

P.S. I have read bhagavad gita more than once, hence I m commenting on it, I suggest u to pls read it before commenting. Had u read it, u would have understood caste or varna system very clearly.

first of all i am talking about manusmriti only not Bhagavadgita. so, do not mix up bhagavadgita .

yes in bhagavadgita it is explained that man gets a caste by character/behavior/profession or qualities " not by birth" .

but, i still have the same opinion for manusmriti for the reasons i already explained .

sorry that i missed the line : The current caste system practiced in India is based on birth and not qualifications and thus it should be rejected.
thats a great line , thanks

manusrmiti also talks about the same caste system. manusrmiti is written by sages where bhagavad gita is said by god himself. manusrmiti talks abt the same varna system which is presented in bhagavad gita.
If u don't have any problem with verses of bhagavad gita then u shuldn't have any problem in manusmriti.
