Aswini Dutt might come across as a stern businessman in film industry circles. But he is a man with heart of gold. As we know Tamil’s diwali blockbuster Velayudham is a remake of Telugu film Azad produced by Aswini Dutt. It was directed by Tirupati Swamy who died a few years after the release. When the producer of Velayudham approached Aswini Dutt for the Tamil remake rights of Azad, Aswini Dutt sold it at a steep price. He searched for the family members of Tirupati Swamy and gave away the entire amount he earned through the sale of Azad remake rights to the family members of Tirupati Swamy. It is such a noble deed by a top class producer.
