This picture belies such claims. They carried out many nocturnal missions in support of the army. This Vampire "Pak Pattan Express" has the sorties listed out on its fuselage.[/i][/size][/center][center][size=4][img]http://jaganpvs.tripod.com/myst1.jpg[/img][/size][/center][center][size=4][b]TIGERS OF ADAMPUR: [/b][i]A Mystere of No.1 Tigers Squadron is armed with Cannon and Stores for an Interdiction mission. An Excellent Interdiction Aircraft, They suffered heavily in Air Combat. No.1 lost Devayya and Fg Off Babul Guha, both to PAF fighters on Sep 7th. They also extracted a heavy toll of enemy aircraft on ground.[/i][/size][/center][center][size=4][img]http://jaganpvs.tripod.com/ouragon.jpg[/img][/size][/center][center][size=4][i]This Ouragan forcelanded in Pakistan after straying over on a training flight. prior to commencement of Hostilities in June 1965. The First Supersonic (in a dive) aircraft to be inducted, They did memorable service in the first day of the War. Six of them were lost to various causes.[/i][/size][/center][center][size=4][img]http://jaganpvs.tripod.com/mig21f.jpg[/img][/size][/center][center][size=4][i][b]FIRST SUPERSONICS:[/b] A MiG-21F of the No.28 Sqn in 1964. A contrast from the MiG-21bis of the later days. India entered the war with 3 of these aircraft, and another 6 MiG-21 FLs. armed with K-13 Missiles which proved useless and no guns, they did not make any contribution except for providing a deterent.[/i][/size][/center]

Trevor got the first air combat kill of 1965 on Sep 3rd flying for No.23 Sqn. Denzil, the elder of the two followed with his kill on Sep 19th When he shot down a Sabre at an altitude less than a thousand Feet. Three Pak Pilots were shot down and killed in this battle. Sqn Ldr S Rafique and Flt Lt Younus are two PAF losses admitted by Pakistan[/i][/size][/center]

Then [b]Sqn Ldr Padmanabha Gautam[/b], A Canberra Pilot from the JBCU. He was the OC of No.16 Canberra Squadron[/i][/size][/center][center][size=4][img]http://jaganpvs.tripod.com/greene.jpg[/img][/size][/center][center][size=4][i][b]Fighter Combat Leader: [/b]Sqn Ldr Johnny William Greene, was the Gnat detachment commander from No.23 Squadron at Pathankot.Awarded the Vir Chakra for his leadership, he retired as Air Marshal.[/i][/size][/center]
