69th Corps Day Celebrated At Western Command

[left][size=4]CHANDIGARH: Intelligence and Aviation corps of Indian Army, Chandimandir, celebrated corps day on Tuesday with traditional fervor at [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/western-command"]western command[/url] headquarters. This was the 69th 'Intelligence Corps Day' and silver jubilee of Army Aviation. On this day in year 1942, the then governor general-in-council had sanctioned the formation of Intelligence Corps (India) and November 1, 1986, was the historic day when air operation units of Army Aviation Corps came into being.[/size][/left]

[size=4]Army commander of Western Command, Lt Gen S R Ghosh, extended his greetings to all personnel of Western Command Intelligence Corps and told them to continue working in the true spirit of the corps motto 'Sada Satark'. He interacted with intelligence officers during a brief session held to mark the occasion. Lt Gen Ghosh also extended his greetings to all members of Army Aviation and wished them accident and incident-free flying in year ahead. He asked everyone to give special attention to flight safety. Chief of the staff ( [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Cos"]COS[/url]) of western command, Lt Gen Baljeet Singh, and senior most serving aviator extended their greetings to all personnel of Intelligence and Aviators of western command. A special 'Barakhana' was hosted where Intelligence officers, subedar ranks and jawans along with their families celebrated the day.[/size]

[size=4]Since its inception, the Intelligence Corps has been at the forefront, providing real time and close intelligence support to the Indian Army, both in peace and war.[/size]
