I.n.s. Vikrant Arrives In Bombay Today

[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][left] The twenty thousand-ton aircraft-carrier, INS Vikrant, the first carrier of the Indian Navy, is scheduled to arrive in Bombay harbour tomorrow evening when Prime Minister Nehru will receive her.[/left][/size][/font][/left][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][left]Vikrant will soon replace INS Mysore as the flag-ship of the Indian Navy after the flag of Rear-Admiral BS Soman is transferred to the aircraft-carrier. Vikrant is speeding towards Bombay, and two ships of the Indian Navy, INS Rajput and INS Beas, are escorting her to the naval anchorage in Bombay Rajput has been keeping company with Vikrant for the past two months functioning as plane guard ship during flying programmes of carrier borne aircraft.[/left][/size][/font][/left][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][left]The frigate Beas which left Bombay yesterday sighted Vikrant this morning and immediately Commander T.J. Kunnenkeril, commanding the Beas flashed a message of warm welcome to Captain PS Mahindroo, Commanding Officer of the Vikrant.
