Komatireddy Outsmarts Kcr In Popularity

Till a couple of months ago, former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was no big leader in Nalgonda district. He was just one among the many Congress leaders from Telangana, raising their voice in support of separate state.
In fact, the Telangana issue was dominated by Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy and former minister R Damodar Reddy. Now and then, seniors like Palwai Goverdhan Reddy and Vuppunuthala Purushottam Reddy used to make aggressive talk on the Telangana. And when Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was alive, Komatireddy never used to talk about the Telangana issue.
Now, suddenly, Komatireddy has become a hero in the district with his indefinite fast. His image graph has gone up steeply and in terms of credibility, he has surpassed even Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao.
Now, every leader claiming to be the supporter of Telangana had to pay a visit to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, where Komatireddy was continuing his deeksha.
Of course, it is a case of concern for KCR, for Komatireddy is emerging as an alternative power centre in Telangana. That is why he is said to be bringing pressure on the Congress leaders in the Centre to see that Komatireddy ends his fast.
