Jagan Loyalist Mlas Likely To Switch Loyalties

HYDERABAD: Some [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Y-S-Jaganmohan-Reddy"]Y S Jaganmohan Reddy[/url] loyalist MLAs are planning to return to Congress fold, party sources said. According to them, the [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/CBI"]CBI[/url] case against Jagan in the Obulapuram mining case and the investigations into his illegal assets have rattled his party, the YSR Congress.
As a first step, the sources said, the Jagan loyalist MLAs will not press for acceptance of their resignations when Speaker Nadendla Manohar calls them before the commencement of the next session. At least 26 Congress MLAs have switched sides to Jagan camp mostly from Rayalaseema. "They have sent feelers to the party that they want to come back to Congress," party sources said.
Congress sources also said some of the 26 MLAs who have resigned from the Congress had met on Monday and decided to go back to the party fold. However, the sources did not reveal the names. "They feel they are being ignored in their constituencies and the ministers have been moving around launching developmental programs. They also feel they would face a threat to their political existence if the PCC appoints in-charges in their constituencies," the sources said.
However, according to some other sources, the Jagan loyalist MLAs will part ways with YSR Congress only if he is arrested. And many of them are of the view that such a situation is unlikely to happen at this juncture.
