Hyderabad, 2nd capital for India

The Hyderabad city should be made the second capital of the nation. It has the potential and the need as well to be the second capital of the country. This would minimize the problems of the people of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Pondichery States in the south.

The tradition and history projects Rastrapathi Bhavan at Alwal as the second capital for the nation with the successive Presidents staying there for their south India tour. This should be made a yearly affair and there should be a camp office that would handle the affairs of the south Indian.

The Prime Minister of India should also have his camp office in Hyderabad to handle the affairs of South India.

The Parliament should hold its winter sessions in Hyderabad and thus the city should be made the second capital of the nation.

The Supreme Court should have its second base in Hyderabad that would cater to the needs of the people of south India.

Even Ambedkar had suggested that Hyderabad should be made the second capital for the country and Telangana, if wanted, should make Warangal as their capital.

Now, there are over 40 lakh people living in Hyderabad whose survival is at stake now. Their lives are to be protected and their properties are to be safeguarded. Given the prevailing tensions in Hyderabad among the ‘settlers’ and the threats being issued by the Telangana activists to the people, politicians and film actors, it is high time that the government should think on making Hyderabad as second capital for the country and asking Telangana and Andhra to have their own capitals.

The threats to Lagadapati Rajagopal against his entry to Hyderabad, the threats to film stars against shooting or screening their films in Telangana and the threats to the non-Telangana people living there are to be addressed. The government should take steps to infuse confidence in the minds of the people living in Hyderabad and its suburbs.

It is right time that the government should freeze Hyderabad before separating the State and not to assign the city to any other region and thus keep it as Independent of Telangana and Andhra. Only then, the interests of the people living in the capital would be protected.
