The BJP is like Draupadi being disrobed in the dice hall of Hastinapura and those who looted the state and brought the party to this shameful level are like Kauravas, an old party guard has said.

Urimajalu Rama Bhat, the first BJP MLA in Karnataka, said the state unit faces a split as leaders were deviating from the original standards laid down by the party mentors.

“The original charter of the party was something which other national and regional parties could not think of, let alone implement. Our leaders and men in power were motivated by nationalism, patriotism, honesty and high moral standards in public life, which were the keystones of the party’s archway.

But today, what we have are leaders with the opposite qualities,” Bhat said. “Today, we have a situation that can be compared to the ‘Draupadi Vastrapaharana’ episode in Mahabharata where Drona, Bheeshma, Kripacharya and other stalwarts were silenced against the ravage of Draupadi’s modesty.Kauravas are the people in power who have looted the state while BJP leaders watched in silence the characterless game of dice in politics,” he said.
