We need more clarity from Centre to restore peace: Geetha Reddy

State Minister, Geetha Reddy has stated that there should have been more clarity in Chidambaram’s latest statement on Telangana. She was addressing the media after MLAs and other leaders of Congress from the Telangana region had met to discuss the developments in Telangana region in the last 12 hours. Geetha Reddy said that Chidambaram’s statement is not anti-Telangana. However, more clarity is needed from Centre to clear the confusion in the state now. She demanded that a certain time bound process be announced so that parties supporting a separate Telangana will know that Centre is committed to its earlier statement. This, she says, will help in restoring peace and law & Order situation in the state. Meanwhile, the law and order situation in Telangana is back to square one. Although the bandh has been largely peaceful, reports of violence, torching of vehicles and property damage have been reported from few towns in Telangana.
