I would suggest working with one platform.
ASP .NET is pretty flexible with any RDBMS.
Although I understand free software thing.

If we have team of four at-least :
- One could manage coding
- second one could manage getting initial deals stuff.
- third could manage the product (look, user friendly and so)
- fourth could do some QA and operations etc..

As per my experience we could wind the project up in less than 2.5 months for a live release.
