'70 per cent people opposing bifurcation'

Former minister J C Diwakar Reddy said the movement for separate Telangana state was only a political game being perpetrated by a few selfish leaders.

He said 70 per cent of the people of the state are opposing the division of the state and the remaining 30 per cent had been misled by the selfish unemployed politicians. “Such agitations have not only spoiled the precious careers of students, but also caused irreparable damage to the state economically and industrially,” JC said.

He made it clear that the division of Andhra Pradesh is not possible unless the fate of Hyderabad is decided. “This question continues to arise as long as the Centre considers the formation of Telangana state,” he said.
