evariko emundi... rule book prakaram u can apply for green card even if you don't have a US visa..... but OPT vunnappudu apply cheste.... GC labour clear ayye lopu nee OPT expire ayipothe... H1B leka pothe... CAP GAP vuntundo ledo I am not sure... I will read about this today.....

he should maintain F1 till the end of GC process and also he cannot travel out of country, unlike H or L visa categories

are you sure that he should maintain same visa status all through? I stated above that I am still not sure about how this works in this case... but rule book states that you are eligible to apply a GC when on F1.... and that is what i confirmed above.... n i don't think we have a restriction that we cannot leave US all through the process.... labour appudu company marite GC process antha dandaga malli starting nunchi apply cheyali.... and GC lo thrid stage anukunta.. and I son't remember on top of my head... some 1yr duration... u shouldn't leave the country then.... emergency cases avute malli approval techukuni vellochu but not at your liberty you can roam around... I am sure abt it.... I have an immigration lawyer booklet from which i read this but don't have it on top pf my head now... I can refer to it and discuss it tomorrow....
