Old man K Rosaiah is getting one jolt after the other. After forcing Osmania University vice chancellor to close down the hostels to drive away students, Rosaiah got a reprimand from the High Court.

The court on Tuesday quashed the GO for closure of all university hostels and messes in Telangana. The court directed that the hostels and messes be reopened with necessary measures to prevent the entry of outsiders.

For the last four days, not a single student moved out of the OU campus though hostels were closed. While male students preferred to spend the nights in the open or in the corridors of college buildings, girl students were given shelter in the residential quarters of university professors and lecturers within the campus.

The colonies in and around Hyderabad responded voluntarily to provide food to the students. Residents of Manikeshwarnagar, a slum adjacent to OU, came forward to provide food to the agitating students. Food and water packets were sent from pro-Telangana people from far-off places like Alwal in Secunderabad.
