panikiraniparty Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 New Delhi: Large parts of North India, including Delhi, plunged back into darkness late on Saturday night as the regional electricity grid collapsed due to dense fog, hours after it was restored, bringing to several trains in the region to a standstill.The Northern grid has again collapsed, leading to disruption of power supply to all power plants in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, a senior official of Punjab State Electricity Board said in Chandigarh.[b]He said it will take six to seven hours to restore the power supply.[/b]Several parts of the national capital also went without electricity late on Saturday night -- for the second time in a day -- following a major breakdown in the Northern grid.
