Government Cancels Polavaram Tenders

The high-powered committee constituted under the Chief Secretary has taken the decision to scrap the tender sanctioned to the SEW company owned by ‘Namaste Telangana’ owner S L Rajam and some others. It was then said that Rajam was the benami of the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao. Opposition TDP has alleged that KCR has mortgaged the Telangana movement and the Sakala Janula Samme for the sake of this tender.

Because of this controversy, the high-powered committee was asked to review the tender process and it has decided that the SEW – Patel company does not have the requisite qualifications.

Though the tenders were cancelled, the government is reported to have expressed keenness that the project should not be delayed. The government would soon call the tenders and finalize them, so that there would not be any delay.
