Mama if I am correct oka chinna thedaaa koduthundi .......

Apache server and Apache Tomcat both are web servers but with lot of differents .....

Apache is static content server (genrally called http server ) ....

Apache tomcat is implementation of Servlet specification or specifically Servlet(JSP) container which is dynamic content server ......

Here if some one say web server that is APACHE TOMCAT server (Servlet container) not Apache Server (http Server)

tomcat is always considered as an application server rather than being a Web server in my view.,

but in cases where we don't use a web server at all and only application server for internal applications.. we can go with tomcat I guess.. but in real world , i never installed or tried tomcat..

so I am not 100% sure about the things sorrounding tomcat.. missed a chance very recently to install the tomcat... kodukulu first adhey kaavaali ani lolli chesi last minute lo mooosukoni weblogic loki vachesaaru..

Apache Tomcat powers numerous large-scale, mission-critical web applications across a diverse range of industries and organizations. Some of these users and their stories are listed on the PoweredBy wiki page.

OK why tomcat consider as web server is the .... even though tomcat generates dynamic content it can only understand HTTP protocal (as servelts and JSP are based on HTTP protocol) like general APCHE server ....

adi mama naaku thelisinaa varaku .....

Simple ... connection pooling ilanteee services kavali antteee web servers third party liberaries pi depend kavali like DBCP ..... adhee application ser verlo aithy by default untayeee ...

inko answer gaaaa web servers can be unsed to deploy web applications (WAR files ...i.e http based applications) ... and application servers used to deploy enterprise apps (EAR which contains EJB , Web apps WAR , Jar and other shared libs) .....which required more security , transaction managment , scalability sollu , mannu mashanam illaaaa annamataaa
