1)No problem
2) It's a big issue if you forgot to surrender your i94 while leaving US.i94 is entry to and departure from record of USA.USCIS will not have a proof that when you left the country,as if you fogot to surrender it. Anyway's keep the i94 safe with you, and your passport is stamped with date of entry while you land in INDIA that is helpful, keep all the air tickets, boarding passes, any bank statments or bank transaction , lodging bills that you stayed in india with you while in return to US as proofs of travel.The port of Entry officer takes the old one and issues the new one.Don't worry be happy.Was telling all this because i had the same issue while going to India and my port of entry is also chicago.

Dont tell anything to officers. You can post that departure card to Border Department after coming here. Our travel will be recorded when we flew on private airlines. It is necessary to give away i94 if you travel by ship. No WORRIES. I personally had this experience with Air India last year. BINDAAS undu

Lol....mama I faced the same situation same airlines aa ethihad vadu andariki alane chusthunadu no problem relax ga undu just go and return that to that immigration officer after all the formalities are done ade slip ne bag lo petuko.....just vadu chepthadu its responsibilty anni anthe ok I didnt anni cheppu chalu......picha cool matter me and my frnd faced the same issue with same airlines at ohare on our return.....inka cool ga undu....
