There are two types

To apply for a work permit from outside or inside of Canada,

In your case, outside of canada,

A job offer from a Canadian employer

A written confirmation from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) that the employer can hire a foreign worker to fill the job. This confirmation is called a positive labour market opinion. Most cases employer will get the confirmation. In some cases you do not need LMO ( ex: Professionals, traders, investors and business people).

You must also do the following:

Satisfy a visa officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your work permit.

Show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family while you are in Canada.

Respect the law and have no criminal record. (You may have to provide a police clearance certificate. See Police Certificates for more information.

Show that you are not a risk to the security of Canada.

Be in good health. (You may have to have a medical examination.
The problem is to get a job. In most cases Canadian employers don't hire people from other countries unless they really need that particular individual. They prefer people from within the country ( Not necessarily be Canadian citizen but can be a PR from any country ). Again in PR Category they prefer who has good experience or some canadian education plus little experience in Canada.

The most important point employers don't prefer telephonic interviews. ( You know why ). Face to face interviews. So basically your physical presence playes an important role and you're back to square one at this point.

The best thing to do is, apply for a PR as a skilled worker and get a Permanent resident status, Land in Canada, Search for a job, attend interview, live a happy life. Getting a PR from UK wouldn't be that hard. Check out your local Canadian consular office site, findout the process, duration and apply.

Or

Apply for a temporary visit visa, Visit Canada, ( Before coming apply for jobs that suits you, tell them that you are visiting Canada on so n so dates, arrange an interview ahead of your visit, ask them if they can process your work permit if you're selected), F2F interview, If selected the employer will take care of the rest. The best site to hunt for a job in Canada is workopolisdotcom.

All the best mama.

Yes cheyyachu. All you need is min required points, Application, app fee ($550 Canadian), IELTS with min 70 score to start the process.

My suggestion, hire a good immigration attorney he will take care of sending/forwarding your application at the right time to you as well as the immigration dept. You need to fill out all the docs and forward them to your attorney in case you hire an attorney.

The reason i'm suggesting you to hire an attorney is there will be 99% chances of interview waiver ( interveiw which is conducted face to face before granting you PR card) and no errors in your application process.

IELTS score also can be submitted later on may be after 2 or 3 months if i remember correctly.

Go to immigrantnetworksdotca and search for the attorneys name and his/her firm if they are registered with canadian immigration network. If you find them they are good and you can rely on them.

Some attorneys charge you in 2 to 3 installments (excluding immigration fees) and is refundable if you are not granted PR in any worst scenerio ( Ask your attorney about this before hiring). There's no harm in asking. Generally attorneys charge you somewhere between $1500 to $2500 Canadian.

Right now it takes 12+ months to get a PR card from UK. You have to show some funds before you get your PR card. Below is a chart which shows how much you need in savings.
1 person $11,115 2 - $13,837 3 - $17,011 4 - $20,654 5 - $23,425 6 - $26,419 7 or more $29,414
