No, his current employer will not know about his state of change. He can continue to work under L1.

once his H1 gets effective from october then he can leave his current job and move to next.

In between if somehow his current employer withdraws his L1 visa, then he will be without any status, he will then have to leave country. He still will have valid H1. He will just have to go to US consulate, get new stamping and come again after october.

Hi,
I am currently working on L1-B Visa for an employer. Recently I have my H1-B approved(Feb, 02). I still did not change the employer and continuing to work for L1 employer and continuing on my job search.

I came to know that after H1-B approval, working for L1 employer is illeagal.

1. Is there any grace period that within that we can change the employer.
2. If I go back to other country(home country), can I again enter on my L1-Visa. If so what will happen to H1-B status.
3. If I continue to work with my L1 employer for another month or two,(until I find new job) what are the consequences(present and future).
4. Is there any way that I can switch back to my L1-B status.

Please clarify as I am very tense and advice the best I can do now.
