This year, he had composed music for a film, ‘Couples Retreat’ and one of the songs in the film ‘Na Na’ might soon be in the Oscar race if everything goes right. This is one among the 63 songs which would be competing to be among the top 5 songs nominated for Best Original Song category. The Oscar Nominations would be announced on Feb 2nd and the Award Ceremony is scheduled on March 7th, 2010. Interestingly, some part of ‘Na Na’ was sung by Rahman’s son. Rahman became the first Indian music director to win an Oscar last year and expectations would be huge this year as well.
