Adhinayakudu Beats Gabbar Singh In Usa

Balakrishna's latest Telugu movie Adhinayakudu, which is directed by Parachuri Murali, has beaten previous weeks' releases like Gabbar Singh (GS) and Daruvu at the USA Box Office. The movie has raked in Rs 10 lacs, while GS and Daruvu earned Rs 5 lacs and Rs 1 lac, respectively at the collection centres across America.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Adhinayakudu, which was released in USA on Friday, June 1, opened to an average response. The movie collected Rs 545,158 lacs ($9,844) at the Box Office on the first day of its release in the country. Its business went down on Saturday. It added Rs 460,041 lacs ($8,307) to its two days' total collection Rs 1,005,200 lacs.

Pawan Kalyan starrer film Gabbar Singh, which was released in America on May 11, is still running strong at the USA Box Office in the fourth week. The movie collected Rs 185,467 lac ($3,349) on Friday and Rs 302,596 lacs ($5,464) on Saturday. The film has raked in a total of Rs 5.64 crores ($1,016,276) in 23 days in the country.

However, Ravi Teja starrer Daruvu, which was released in the country on May 25, is also faring well at the Box Office in the second week. The movie collected Rs 55,517 ($1,002) on Friday and Rs 84,495 ($1,525) on Saturday. The film has raked in a total of Rs 31.75 lacs ($57,159) in nine days.

The negative talk for senior hero Nandamuri Balakrishna’s latest film Adhinayakudu at the box office is said to have come as a big relief for his nephew Junior N T Rama Rao.
So far, the talk is Adhinayakudu might turn out to be yet another disaster for Balayya, as was the case with his earlier film Parama Veera Chakra.
In fact, the film was released at last, coinciding with the timing of by-elections in the state, after undergoing a lot of initial hiccups. There were reports that Balayya had deferred the release of the movie only to avoid the viewers from comparing it with Jr NTR’s film “Dammu.”
Though Dammu might not be a block-buster hit for NTR, it has generated good talk for him. And compared to it, Adhinayakudu has proved a poor show.
Sources say Jr NTR might have had a sigh of relief to know that his uncle’s film has not overshadowed Dammu. After all, one cannot expect “Simha” type of success every time, right!
