Hi,
Currently market lo "Ultrabooks" ani vachayi. Almost all the top companies are manufacturing them which includes Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Dell, HP, Samsun and Sony.

Basically Ultrabooks are powered by Intel which are as good as Apple Mac Air books. Starting range should be $600 but I think if you can shell out $300 more you can get the best configs in the market which could serve high performance computing and graphics also.

if your looking only for Browsing and just low end applications aithe. go for then [b]Netbooks[/b]. May be I3 + Intel HD media accelarator + 2-4GB RAM + 100GB (HDD) + Wifi-N Card. This should do.
