@gr33d @gr33d ..nenu kuda electrical ee. I've been trying in core sector for the past 3months. I only got 2 calls (I know that this depends on person to person as well as type of job applied.). Strictly speaking, scope is very much limited in the core sector for international students.

Firstly, not all universities have spring intake. Secondly, the funding chances are very bleak for spring intake unless current assistantship holders just graduated and position is vacant. Coming to the universities suggestion, unless I know the specialization that he is looking for I cannot specifically suggest universities. However, here's a list of good universities that have very good EE departments.

1. GaTech
2. U Mass
3. UTD
4. NCSU
5. TAMU
6. Rutgers
7. Clemson
8. UCB
9. U Cinn
10. ASU

thanks very informative........specialization is EE- power systems

WC. Now, based on the given specialization, some of the univ's given would be out.
ASU, NCSU, MSTU, RPI, OSU(Ohio), Iowa, VTech(terrific course but difficult to crack, to compare MIT would be easier)
Btw, what's the gre score out of 1600? I am sure they'll have the converted score. Bare minimum score should be above 1350

Then ASU, NCSU, MSTU, RPI, Iowa, Ohio(doubt aa). If he is really interested to do his masters from a good university, then IMO, he should apply for Fall 2013. In the meantime, he can do some RA in some premier institutes ( just in case if he has problem with the VI).
