Telangana + Rayalseema = Rayala Telangana

Some leaders from Rayalaseema are suggesting a proposal to find a solution to the burning Telangana issue.

According to their proposal, the Rayalaseema should be part of Telangana to be called “Rayala Telangana,” thereby separating coastal Andhra. They are giving a lot of reasoning to this proposal: first, Rayalaseema resembles Telangana in backwardness; and both were neglected because of Andhra rulers. Secondly, the people of Rayalaseema and Telangana have a lot of attitudinal resemblances: they talk straight and act straight, unlike Andhra leaders, who are known for their back-stabbing nature. Thirdly, the food habits of Rayalaseema and Telangana are also more or less similar; both of them prefer millets, rather than cereals. Culturally, too, there are a lot of resemblances. If Seema and Telangana are merged, they can have control over Krishna, Tungabhadhra rivers and can have greater share. Prominent temples like Srisailam, Srikalahasti, Tirupati and Kanipakam will remain in Rayala Telangana, which would yield a lot of revenue from tourists and pilgrims. And economically, it will be a prosperous region because of mineral wealth both in Telangana and Rayalaseema.

The proposal was mooted by J C Diwakar Reddy with the Telangana Congress leaders. A similar talk is also doing rounds in some parts of Telangana. But will it be acceptable to Telangana leaders?
