Its timing that make the difference.
If you see Anjali in 1989, dalapathi 1992(January) & Roza in 1992(December), then you would belive that they are advanced movies in all technical aspects (BGM, screenplay, direction, camera etc) by the time.
How ever still you can watch Roza on 15th August aired on ETV. I like it.

Coming to Shankar, yes he is a legend sort. Gentleman in 1993 left youth of that time mesmerized.
I believe that Bharateeyudu in 1996 is still unbeaten in its taking. Especially if you see OkkaMagadu in 2008, you could see how Bharateeyudu still remains unbeaten even after 12+ years.
