From a cinematography perspective I think: Maniratnam is a far better technician than shanker...mani's fils dont base out on CG works ..but shanker uses them a lot
on par ..both of them are good ..but shnaker gets into more of Monotonous groove of story telling " Corruption"

Mani ratnam all movies materpiece. geethanjali,mauna raagam,anjali,roja,bombay,Yuva,nayakudu,dalapathi,Guru,gharshana, i didnt remember all movie names.. every movie is Unique and made history with style of screen play ... Manirathnam,balachandar,barathi raja,Viswanath,baapu, these are made for direction...

Shankar most of the movies same concept mainly on corruption..with high budget and graphics..
