The lake has an unusually high salt concentration (like the Dead Sea), in which [i]Dunaliella salina[/i] micro-algae thrive, [url="http://helablog.com/2012/07/senegals-big-pink-lemonade-lake/"]giving it its pink hue[/url]. Neato. You know what would be even cooler though? If the Lost City of Atlantis really existed.
