Heavy firing on international border in J&K

As India celebrates 60 years as a republic, there are reports of heavy firing at the international border in Kanachak area of Akhnoor sector last night.

The firing started near the Alfa Machal Border Security Force (BSF) post around 2 am. Later the firing spread in other areas as well as in the same sector.

The BSF retaliated with a heavy gun fire exchange and a search operation is now on.
