The decision of the Indian Premier League to shift the inaugural event and first match of T-20 tournament from Hyderabad on account of Telangana agitation has cost Deccan Chronicle group chairman T Venkattrami Reddy heavily.

Right from the beginning, Deccan Chronicle daily has been writing negative stories against Telangana and highly critical of the movement. The daily has of late virtually banned the reports of TRS. What is worse, the DC group conducted the Deccan Cup T-20 tournament at Uppal stadium even on the recent Telangana bandh day. This has angered the Telangana activists who disrupted the recent match. Following this, the IPL has shifted the forthcoming T-20 tournament match from Hyderabad to Mumbai.

Realising that it is losing a huge revenue by shifting the venue of the T-20 match, DC group is now running after KCR. Sources said Reddy had offered to donate Rs 10 crore to the TRS and even agreed to write positive stories on Telangana. KCR assured him that he would speak to the IPL authorities and promise to ensure an incident-free tournament in Hyderabad.
