Yes, agreed, It is not even terminal change as I said earlier. It is actuually like this.

"You transit the UK [b]airside[/b] if you arrive here on a flight, remain in the arrival lounge of the airport without passing through UK immigration control, and then depart on another flight from the[b] same airport.[/b]"

And the visa is actually called Direct airsdie transit visa which is automatically given (with not stamping for the people that are travelling to the countries that I mentioned earlier).

But the major problem with the Heathrow airport is, even though it is one airport, the terminals are physcially located at different places (I guess 1, 3 and 4 or 5 are at one place, I am not very sure this). This some time makes the people who needs to change the terminal to come out of the airport (passoing through the UK immigration control) and travel inside the london to go to the other terminal (You can't travel in the london without any valid visa). Once you come out(pass the immigration control), the direct airside transit visa will not be valid any more(Ofcourse,tThe immigration control will not allow you to come out without any valid visa to change the terminal). If your flight is in the same building (but different terminal), you may not require to pass though the immigration control and the direct airtransit visa will be applicable and you can change the flight.
