Saina is the first Indian woman to reach the singles quarterfinals at the [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympics"]Olympics[/url] and the first Indian to win the [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Junior_Badminton_Championships"]World Junior Badminton Championships[/url]. She completed a hat-trick in the same year by winning the [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indonesia_Open_(badminton)"]Indonesian Open[/url] on June 27, 2010. This win resulted in her rise to 3rd ranking and subsequently to No. 2. Later in the same year she also won [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_Open_(badminton)"]Hong Kong Super Series[/url] on December 12, 2010.
