[color=black !important][font=Verdana, Geneva, Tahoma, sans-serif][size=2][left]A Pole Mihal Pleskovich became the new champion in solving Rubik's Cube. He solved the puzzle in 8.65 seconds, but the world record belonged to the Cube robot who was three seconds faster then Mihal.

The competition held in Bangkok was attended by about 350 artists from Japan, Germany, Sweden, France, Britain and elsewhere.

Pleskovich was declared the champion because for five times in a row he solved the cube scoring average time of 8.65 seconds per cube, which is still lower than the world record of Australian Felix Zemdegs who scored an average of 7.64 seconds, in June 2011, at the winter open championship in Melbourne. At the same time, Zemdegs set a new world record for solving a single cube - 5.66 seconds.

However, this impressive result was surpassed by the robot called Cube Stormer II. This machine is made of Lego cubes controlled with four NXT "bricks" and supported by Samsung's mobile phone Galaxy SII, it managed to solve the cube in just 5.35 seconds.

This robot is made by Mike Dobson and David Gilday who tested their skills in this discipline before. In 2010, Dobson made a first Cube Stormer and Gilday has designed several other robots to solve Rubik's cube that are equally impressive.

The work of their Cube Stormer II was controlled by four intelligent Lego cubes NXT series which use Bluetooth connection to communicate with the phone Galaxy SII on which was installed the application that record the cube, solves it, and then send to the Lego robot for execution. It turned out that the whole process only takes a few seconds.

Scientific research has shown that each configuration of Rubik's Cube can solved in 20 moves, however, the current score is 1:0 for robots. [/left][/size][/font][/color]
