kakatiya Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 [color=#000000][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] [b]Dehradun:[/b] A 13-year-old girl has lodged FIR against her parents for allegedly throwing her into the Ganga canal at Haridwar, from where she swam to safety, police said on Friday.[/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Seema Kumari stated in her complaint against her father and step-mother on Thursday that they threw her into the Ganga canal on Wednesday night.[/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] The girl, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, said she was brought by her parents to Haridwar under the pretext of celebrating raksha bandhan.[/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=1] [img]http://static.ibnlive.in.com/ibnlive/pix/sitepix/04_2012/saving_the_ganga1.jpg[/img][/size][/font][/color] [color=#000000][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] However, when they were near the canal, they threw her in and assuming she was dead, left for home.[/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Kumari swam to safety and spent the night in a cottage of a sadhu.[/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] The police have lodged a murder attempt case and started a hunt to track down the parents.[/font][/color]
