If person accepts answer for his question, person who answered it gets 15 points, an upvote fetches 10 points. Downvote takes away 5 points from your reputation. So all this sum together to your reputation points.

If a Question has a bounty ( 50, 100, 500 points ), it will be in the Hot questions list. And answerer will get those points added to reputation apart from upvotes or accept answer. So more # of people look at that question and try to answer it.
