Balaiah Meets Naidu: What's Up?

Senior actor-turned-aspiring politician Nandamuri Balakrishna on Sunday met his brother-in-law and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu amidst speculations that he is going to take a plunge into active politics.
Though party leaders brush it aside as a routine meeting between two brothers-in-law, the way Balakrishna had one-on-one deliberations with Naidu over an hour has given the impression that there was really something serious issue that came up for discussion between the two.
According to sources in the media covering the party beat, Naidu had called Balakrishna to discuss on the role he is going to play in the party in the coming days. Though Balakrishna is said to be insisting on working president post, Naidu is reportedly offering him general secretary post, along with membership in the politburo. There is also a possibility of Naidu creating the post of secretary general for Balakrishna in the party.
There is also a talk that Balakrishna himself had come to meet Naidu to prevail upon him not to make any hasty statement on the Telangana statehood demand or write a letter to the Centre to that effect. Apparently, the Seemandhra leaders are trying to bring pressure on Naidu through Balakrishna. In any case, the meeting between the two has raised a lot of curiosity.
