Senior hero Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is all set to make a grand entry into active politics, is likely contest the next assembly elections from Hindupur constituency in Anantapur district, rather than his original choice of Gudivada in Krishna district.
The reason is simple: Party’s own intelligence network in Gudivada is learnt to have told Balakrishna that it would be difficult to win from this constituency because of the strong wave in favour of YSR Congress party headed by YS Jaganmohan Reddy. It was precisely the reason why sitting Gudivada MLA Kodali Sri Venkateshwara Rao alias Naani has chosen to shift loyalties to YSR Congress party.
The Jagan party has penetrated deep into the Dalits and BCs who dominate the voters in the constituency and there is no sentiment in favour of NTR family despite the fact that it was represented in the past by the legend hero.
That is perhaps the reason why Balakrishna has wooed former MLA Ravi Venkateshwara Rao into back the TDP and assured him of the party ticket in Gudivada. Since Venkateshwara Rao is a local candidate and has some hold in the constituency, he has better chances than Balakrishna.
The actor reportedly told party president N Chandrababu Naidu that he would prefer to contest from Hindupur, since it was represented by NTR till his death. He is likely to make the political entry in the next couple of months, say party sources.[/size][/font][/color]
