agreed, this is my initial thought too!

write a unix shell wrapper script....which looks for a trigger file to start the workflow (pmcmd)
Create a windows based GUI which can FTP a trigger file onto unix box.
Once the unix box gets the FTP file, the script should run the workflow (using pmcmd)
ila enni workflows unte anni trigger files pampochu...and then the unix script will be the same since the trigger file is the only difference.

eppudu cheyyaledhu..but its possible...
