When the satellite TV revolution broke out in India especially in Telugu Television during the late 1990s, we used to have the only channel i.e,”Dhoordarshan” either to watch the entertainment or news. A day in week we get Entertainment songs in Doordarshan with programname Chitramalika. After few days, Indian Government approved Private TV Channels in telugu. None of the big shots were interested to start a channel @ 1990′s as its too expensive between it takes loads of time to publicise the channel. But, one of the AP’s leadingand sensational news paper (even now as per the records), Telugu Daily News Paper “EENADU” started an entertainment channel for telugu audience i.e,”Eenadu Telivision”.These days we call as “ETV”.

Eenadu TV – ETV was launched on August 27th, 1995. ETV channel was a revolution to south indian television. After then many new channels had been taken birth with an inspiration of “ETV”. It is a fact that, ETV has created an interest to one of the big companies to enter into media field. Top MNC’s like Reliance, Times of India, e.t.c., had entered into south indian market only by inspiration of ETV.

From Daily to weekly serials, News, Entertainement programs at every corner of television ETV had made its mark and revolution. From 1995 to 2003, ETV ruled the Telugu Television Screen with its Daily serials,News, programmes, shows e.t.c., The cream part of ETV is attracting the family audience with its daily soaps.Antharangalu, Kalankitha,Vidhi, Sneha, Lady Detective, Anweshitha is some of the sensationalserials still be in top position and even every one is ready to seeeven these days. ETV has created spiritual interests among the people with the serials like Bhagavatam, Shiva Leelalu and other spiritual live shows keep up the fame of ETV. ETV also concentrates on child viewers with its witty shows like panchatantram,cartoons, Padutha Tiyaga etc.,in these competitive days, ETV lost its grip on market but not Broadcasting Standards and quality of telecasting.

Especially for News, ETV is still in top position. According to latest News TRP’s India’s TOP 5 most popular popular prime time news bulletin is ETV 9PM NEWS. None of the channel didn’t dare to touch ETV News 9PM TRP’s still now. “If we want to know, On the whole day what happened in world ETV 9PM NEWS is enough to cover all the things..” Recently Business Standard magazine published. One of the most entertainment dance show “DHEE” got highest TRP rating allover India for its 2nd series.

ETV Network is one of the largest Broadcasting network in India with having 12 regional language news and entertainment channels. ETV Telugu, ETV2 News, ETV Marathi, ETV Gujarathi, ETV Oriya, ETV Rajasthan, ETV Madhya Pradesh, ETV Uttara Pradesh, ETV Bengali, ETV Kannada, ETV Urdu, ETV Bihar.

i remember we used to get.. both .. etv was launched late... we used to watch zee tv and dd metro on regular basis...
