You should not buy a share just because the price is low or the company has well known or has some brand value
GRPN share price was $25 in Feb,$15 in May,and now $4.40 in August,it will be around $3 in November. !
Go by technicals before buying any stock

PS:BTW Please don't buy fb thinking that it is a great company.In November,the lock-in period expires and over billion shares will flood to market .Chances are the share price will further go down to $13

Every company allots shares to its promoters/directors/owners ,investors and skate holders such as employees etc for a nominal price, before the company comes for IPO.As per SEC rules they can not sell shares immediately after the IPO and get benefited from high opening price (which is not the real value ).So companies have to fix certain time for those share holder to be eligible to sell the stock to public.In case of FB there are different dates for each of the share holder who will become eligible to sell their shares (if they want to).So on November 14th over 1 billion share will become eligible to be sold in the market.(first phase)
