So you bought 37 share @$4.40 =$162.80 +ave.brokerage fee $7.50=$169.50
If you are lucky enough and assuming 20% profit in next 1 year it may go up to $5.28 per share
If you sell them ,then 37x $5.28=194.25-brokerage fee 7.50=186.75
So gross profit =$187.75-169.50=$17.25 - income tax= profit =around $12 !!

Congrats on your $12 profit ! <)&

brokerage fee = not 7.50 its $9.99

If you are lucky enough and assuming 20% profit in next 1 year it may go up to $5.28 per share
If you sell them ,then 37x $5.28=195-brokerage fee 7.50=187.86
So gross profit =$187.86-169.50=$18.36 - income tax= profit =around $14 !!

conclusion you will get $14 as profit if GRPN shares rise 20% which is impossible going by the charts since it's IPO

Enjoy !

Don't go to banking and financial stocks right now till the 'fiscal cliff' is sorted out
You can buy BoA (BAC) at around $7 levels JPM and MS are best bets in banking !

CSCO is another Microsoft. Not much rapid growth. The IT /Service sector growth is stagnant from last few years and will remain same for few more years. So no rapid growth in the IT infrastructure. Moreover Chinese companies like ZTE and Huawei are giving lot of competition to Cisco and losing market.

In technology companies you can consider NXPI (NXP semi conductor) which is a leader in NFC Technologies.I have bought a 4000 shares in June @$14 .Sold them last month when it was $27.I will re-enter when it falls below $22 !

I do not buy for long term or have any portfolio
I play on News and insiders leaks !

BTW,I want to share some interesting fact how I profited on GRPN over night.
As I know from a source that groupon will be posting bad earnings results for the qtr, yesterday at 4:10pm I was ready on my computer with my trading account open.Just when GRPN announced the results (poor results!) I immediately sold(shorted) 3700 shares @ $3.81 a share =14,097.Though I thought of doing more ,but didn't have enough margin balance. In the morning at around 11:00 am I bought (covered my position) 3700 shares @ $2.97 a share =$10,989 .leaving me a profit of $14,097- $10,989 = $3,109 !
so ,with some risk and gamble $3100 profit in under 20 hrs !

Yes,that is reverse way of doing calling 'shorting'
Most of regular trading account will not permit you.
I have margin trading option too.It means I need just 25% of balance to cover my trade.Rest will be covered by brokerage account (of course they charge interest)
