nenu amreeka pole kani vere desham poina.........not great like other airlines kaani...its ok type...only +ve from AI is I found food is excellent compared to other airlines...-ve is sometimes it feels like a roller coaster ride(baaga uguthadi plane )....rest all you can manage

As per service, I had the same opinion, but I was proved wrong they have improved a lot in their services and also making sure they meet the time of flight path in regards to your destination. I haven't felt bored at all, watched movies, TV shows and the food was good.

If I have to travel India again, I will prefer only Air India . ([size=6]of-course I prefer other Airlines too except that I avoid flights/ flight path from any !slam!c countries, I won't travel[/size])

PS: one suggestion I want to make is, if you won't get up from your seat that often, then I suggest you request window seats through out the journey.

i traveled to and from India more than 12 times , i think Air India is the best off all
Nice food , Indian people to talk to , feel like you are in India the moment you step in flight
Air Hostess it depends , but i felt that Uncle host in air india serve liquor far better than Aunt Hostess
seats are comfortable in AI and you have something to press your legs on
traveled in QATAR , EMIRATES , LUFTHANSA , UNITED AIRLINES , CONTINENTAL and JET AIRWAYS
when i first came to US traveled in Jet Airways it was excellent flight compared to Air India but that was the first month of Jet Air way's international service they treated people very nicely and excellent food , later i didn't get a chance to travel in Jet , but from what i heard it has deteriorated in service
Lufthansa was nice it was my recent trip last month , air hostess was over friendly i felt they are not racist , food was Avg
Qatar seating is not that good i felt it was too congested and the day i traveled it was completely full food is mostly middle eastern food
Emirates similar to Qatar
United Airlines they don't serve liquor and all of them are HUGE male AIR HOSTs and if you are in AISLE seat you would have lot of bruises on your legs food is Avg leg room is ok
Continental Airlines the worst so far in my exp , travelled from Newyork to Delhi some 13 hr non stop flight i guess food was the worst , air hostess was worst , don't serve liquor , RACIST'S , my friend asked for water they didn't bother to get it compared to white passenger who got best service
i would prefer Air India any time any day if i don't get a chance to travel in it , Next choice would be Lufthansa and than Emirates

NOW I HAVE A QUESTION FOR AIR INDIA BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
My wife would be traveling to Chicago but we have lot of luggage in India is it ok if we bring extra piece of 23 kgs other than allotted if we pay for extra piece , i saw that they charge 133 dollars for one extra piece ,any one have personal exp regarding extra baggage ,
As it is a busy season i am worried if they would allow the extra bag if the flight is full
