At this stage of the proceedings, Foxconn must be churning a triillion iPhone 5 units per second, getting ready for the September 12 launch. Nor surprisingly, it seems someone managed to smuggle one out of a factory in Jincheng, China. Not just parts, but an entire unit.
The phone seems complete and booting. It stops just before showing the unlock screen with this error:
After all the leaks it seems highly unlikely that this is any kind of prank or fake—unless Apple has played the biggest deception operation since the Allies made the Nazis believe that Operation Overlord was happening in another place.
According to the person who got the iPhone 5 from the factory, it is indeed thinner and taller, just like the leaked parts showed.

According to unofficial preliminary leaks of the new Apple iPhone 5 designs, the Chinese manufacturer of the GooPhone i5 has replicated the external design of the newiPhone 5. Apple may now face a lawsuit because of this, as reported CNET. The cheap clone of the iPhone 5 is now patented and the manufacturer claims the outer form had arisen from its own research and development.
Yesterday, event invitations were sent to the media and on Sept. 12th the iPhone 5 will most likely be presented. But now there will be a legal dispute over the design of the brand new Apple device and you can blame it on the GooPhone I5 which was released in China. It seems clear that the cheap Chinese manufacturers have based the GooPhone I5 on copies of unpublished leaks and unofficial images of the new iPhone.
