[/color] [color=#000000]ఆనంద్(గుజరాత్): భారతావనిలో పాల వెల్లువకు బాటలు పరచిన‘శ్వేత విప్లవ పితామహుడు’ డాక్టర్ వర్ఘీశ్ కురియన్(90) ఇక లేరు. ఒకనాడు పాల దాహార్తితో అల్లాడిన భారత్ను నేడు ప్రపంచంలోనే అతిపెద్ద పాల ఉత్పత్తి దేశంగా తీర్చిదిద్దిన ఆయన ఆదివారం తెల్లవారుజామున కన్నుమూశారు. స్వల్ప అనారోగ్యంతో బాధపడిన కురియన్ గుజరాత్ నాడియాద్ పట్టణంలోని ముల్జీభాయ్ పటేల్ యూరాజికల్ హాస్పిటల్లో తెల్లవారుజామున 1.15 గంటలకు మృతిచెందారు. కురియన్కు భార్య మోలీ, కూతురు నిర్మల ఉన్నారు. కురియన్ భౌతికకాయాన్ని తొలుత ఆనంద్ పట్టణంలోని స్వగృహానికి తరలించి, అనంతరం ప్రజల సందర్శనార్థం స్థానిక అమూల్ డెయిరీకి చెందిన సర్దార్ హాల్లో ఉంచారు. సాయంత్రం 4.30కు సర్వమత పురోహితుల సమక్షంలో అంత్యక్రియలు నిర్వహించారు. చితికి ఆయన మనవడు సిద్ధార్థ్ నిప్పంటించారు[/color]
